The EV Myth: Electric Vehicle Sales are Tanking

Electric vehicle sales are tanking and the fad is over. 
 

Recent ffigures how ev car sales are dropping dramatically.

The fad is over and everyone who will ever buy an electric car has already bought theirs.

If you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, you can see the annual seasonal trend. This shows EV sales are following a natural upward trend

EV Myth Busted: EV Car Sales are Healthy

If you look at the below graph showing sales of electric vehicles, there’s a drop from the December quarter to the March quarter. While this does show a drop, if you look at every year there’s a similar drop. The January to March period coincides with the northern hemisphere winter and sales are always lower.
To get a true picture look at corresponding quarters of each year. Comparing March 2024 with March 2023 still shows an increase.  Similarly December 2023 was higher than December 2023 in preceding years.

Why is the media saying this? Whay does the media say anything? For ratings of course. Controversial stuff sells advertising.

Yes, sales of Electric Vehicles in January to March are lower than October to December, but you don’t need to be a genius to see this is a normal seasonal trend.
